Mark grew up in Lomira, WI and attended Winnebago Lutheran Academy in Fond du Lac, WI. He graduated from Dr. Martin Luther College in 1982, with a Bachelor of Science degree in education.
He has been privileged to serve in two congregations. He was first assigned to Pilgrim Lutheran School in Menomonee Falls, WI and served as teacher/principal for 11 years. He then received the call to St. John Lutheran School in 1993.
He is married to Wanda, who also teaches piano at St. John. They have been blessed with five children, three of which are also in the public ministry.

Mr. Allan Boeder | Grades 3-5, Athletics, Technology email Allan
Allan L. Boeder was born quite a ways from the frozen tundra that is Wisconsin. Originally from Key West, FL, he has lived in Wisconsin for nearly all of his life. He grew up in Manitowoc, WI. where he attended Bethany Evangelical Lutheran School from grades K-8. He graduated from Manitowoc Lutheran High School in 2013. While at MLHS he decided to enroll in Martin Luther College. He student taught at St. Mark, Watertown, 20 min. from here. He graduated from MLC in 2017. He received his first assignment for the 2018-2019 school year to emergency teach at St. Mark, Green Bay in the fifth grade classroom. By the end of the school year he had taught nearly all 5th grade subjects, 4th grade English, 6th grade Math, and some Special Education when needed. In May of 2019 he received his permanent assignment at St. John, Waterloo where he currently serves as the 3-8 Phy-Ed teacher, 3-5 teacher, 3-8 science teacher, technology director, and athletic director.

Miss Tara Winecke | K-2, Music email Tara
Tara was born in St. Paul, Minnesota but spent most of her childhood in Iowa. She wanted to teach His little lambs from a very young age, assisting with Sunday School and various Vacation Bible Schools at church.
Tara attended Martin Luther College in 2015 and graduated this past May. While at MLC, Tara participated in many musical ensembles. In fact, she graduated with two majors (Elementary Education and Secondary Instrumental Music Education). She is excited to start her ministry at St. John and cannot wait to see how God uses her to spread His Word!

Mrs. Mary Dorn | Kindergarten email Mary
Mary calls St. Joseph, MI “home,” where she was born and lived until she married John Dorn. They have five children and one grand-daughter. Their ministry started in West Bend, WI and since has led them to Stillwater, MN and Crete, IL. Her husband will be teaching Science classes at Lakeside which is what led them to the area. She has been teaching Kindergarten for the past 8 years and loves how their brains really are like sponges, taking in everything. She looks forward to teaching them about how much Jesus loves them and singing praises with them.

Mrs. Kerri Esmay | 3K/4K Director & Teacher email Kerri
Kerri’s love for early childhood began many years ago in Ft. Worth, Texas. Since then she has homeschooled her two children, started a preschool for ages 2-5 in Louisiana, and been director at centers in Manhattan and Topeka, Kansas. She is very thankful for the opportunities and experiences the Lord has brought her through. Her ministry has been blessed as she’s gone through NAEYC accreditation, taken a course on Conscious Discipline, and attended multiple training hours on best practice in early childhood education. She loves the honesty and boldness 3 and 4 year olds exhibit. She loves hearing them sing praises to Jesus all day long. Her favorite part of the day is Bible Time. Oh to have the faith of a child. She thanks the Lord for the opportunity to spend her days with wee ones and teach them about the One who is our everything, Jesus!! She is married to Pastor Esmay, one of the shepherds at St. John. The Lord has entrusted them with two of his precious lambs, Hannah and Drew, who attend Luther Prep. Her hobbies include golfing, scrapbooking, Jazzercise, playing organ, and watching her children do what they love to do!

Mrs. Emily Brusenbach | 3K/4K Teacher email Emily
Emily grew up in Oconomowoc WI, where she attended St Matthew’s Lutheran School. She then attended Luther Prep in Watertown. In 2018 she graduated from California Baptist University with a degree in Early Childhood Education and a concentration in Human Development. Since graduating in 2018, Emily worked at St Matthew’s in Oconomowoc as a lead in a 2 year old and 3 year old room, and recently was a full-time aide in a 5K classroom, before accepting the call to teach 3/4 K here in Waterloo. Emily is married to Hunter. Hunter currently works at Clasen Quality Chocolate in Watertown.
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28
Lacey Behm | 3K/4K Teacher Assistant
Lacey grew up in Lake Mills, WI. She has worked in childcare for six years and is also blessed to be a mother of three. She is very thankful to be teacher assistant at St. John. Her favorite part is watching the children learn, grow, and listening to them talk about Jesus.

Autumn Thompson | 3K/4K Teacher Assistant
Autumn grew up in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. She graduated from Beaver Dam High School. Class of 2020! This is her first year working in 3/4K, and she is going to be going to school to pursue a career in childcare. Autumn’s favorite part is watching how much the children grow everyday.

Tammy Musser | Administrative Assistant email Office
Tammy graduated from Superior Senior High School in 1979 and the Account Clerk program at WITI in 1981. She married Paul Musser in June, 1983 and they were blessed with two children. They moved to the Waterloo area in 2001 so their children could attend a WELS parochial school and attend high school at Lakeside Lutheran. She has been working at St. John since March of 2003.
